Hello, my friends! Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies of The Broke and the Bookish! This week's topis is "most anticipated releases for the second half of 2016." So I couldn't narrow it down to 10 releases I really want so I'm telling you my top 15 instead! What can I say? There are a lot of really great books set to release fall 2016. So let's jump into it.
1. Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor
This is probably my most anticipated release of the year. I have been patiently waiting for Taylor to release a new book since the minute I finished Dreams of Gods and Monsters. This book promises more beautiful writing and another great story as well!
2. Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
This is most definitely my second most anticipated release of the year. Illuminae was crazy...crazy good that is! I know the second book follows two completely different characters, but I can't wait to see how their story links to the first book!
3. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
Y'all know Maas is my queen so is it really a surprise that Empire of Storms has come in third on my "most desired fall releases" list?
4. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi
It means a lot that this book made this list because I don't read middle grade books. Or at least, I haven't since about 6th or 7th grade. But Mafi's writing is too beautiful to pass up and the story sounds amazing!
5. Replica by Lauren Oliver
This book looks incredible. It has two sections which you can read 4 ways and which combine to tell 1 story! How cool is that?! But beyond the format, the story also sounds hella awesome!
6. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
This book is a fantasy book based off of how queen bees are chosen! Another cool concept! This story looks amazing and I can't wait to get my greedy little hands on it!
7. Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin
Wolf by Wolf was my favorite book of 2015 so of course I'm just dying to read the sequel! Especially as the first book left off at such a cliffhanger!
8. Poison's Kiss by Breeana Shields
I hadn't heard much about this book until I stumbled over it on Goodreads, but it looks so amazing!
9. A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cleuss
This book is about a girl who is proclaimed "the chosen one" but is not in fact the chosen one. I'm really interested in seeing how Cleuss plays with the chosen one trope. I think this will be a really interesting book if done well!
10. Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge
This retelling of the great Romeo and Juliet looks absolutely to die for (heheh, get it? to die for? I'll stop.)! I can't wait to read it!
11. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
After reading Illuminae and falling in love with it, I'm really eager to see how Kristoff fares as a solo author! His other solo series has gotten a lot of praise, so I have high expectations!
12. Timekeeper by Tara Sim
An LGBT+ steampunk novel? Um, yes, please!
13. Ever The Hunted by Erin Summerill
This book look so, so, soooooo good and it has a stunning cover! *grabby hands*
14. Nemesis by Anna Banks
I'm a sucker for the whole "falling for your enemy" trope, so I'm interested in seeing how this book plays with that idea!
15. Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter
This book is set in Brooklyn and based on Russian folktales! I'm already in love!
