Turns out I like This format so I'm back (and betta than eva!) with another What's Up On Wednesdays! What's Up On Wednesdays is my Frankenstein-esque mishmash of WWW Wednesdays (a weekly meme hosted by Taking On A World Of Words) and Waiting On Wednesday (a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine)! But enough with the explaining shenanigans! You came here to here me ramble incoherently about books (right? right!)! So let's get get down to business to defeat the Huns!

Whatcha Readin' Now?

Heh. Soooooooo, yeaaaaaaah. I'm officially in a reading slump. How do I know for certain that I'm in a slump? Ooooooh, maybe because IT'S TAKEN ME A WEEK AND A HALF TO READ A BOOK I ACTUALLY LIKE AND I'M STILL NOT DONE WITH IT!!! So, yeah, that's why I'm still listening to the audiobook of My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. I'm loving the book, though! It's a hilarious retelling of history recounting the not-so-true story of Lady Jane Grey. The narrator is an absolute riot, too! Her voices and comedic timing are mmm, mmm good! I will say there are a few times when the story starts to drag because it gets lost in its own humor, but for the most part its good!

I'm thinking that my the time I finish My Lady Jane, I'll have to return all of my other library books, unfortunately. So I'm thinking that next I'm going to pick up This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I honestly know very little about this book. From what I know it's about a girl who wants to be a monster and a monster who wants to be a human? But the monsters also can look like humans? And the girl and the boy (who's a monster) become friends and help each other? Either way, it would be my first time reading a Schwab book and I'm super excited for it!

So, as a treat for making it this far, I'll tell you! The book on my radar this week is....DRUMROLL PLEASE!...*dramatic pause for tension*...The Architect of Song by A.G. Howard, expected publication date August 15, 2016!!! Guys. I am so hyped for this book. From what I know (fact check me, please) it's a gothic fantasy New Adult!!! Eeeeeee! Since I discovered New Adult, I've been asking and pleading that authors write some serious fantasy/sci fi books in the age range and it seems like authors are finally responding to that demand! First Sarah J. Maas wrote her A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy and now this book series! I know, that's not millions of fantasy/sci fi New Adult books, but it's a start!
