Top 10 Tuesday REWIND | Magical And/Or Just Plain Awesome Things Books Made Me Want To Learn Or Do

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

HELLO, DUCKLINGS!!! I'm excited, are you excited?! Of course you are because it's Top 10 Tuesday!!! Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme created and run by the lovely ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish! This week is a REWIND! week, so we get to choose a previously used topic of our choice! I chose a topic that I skipped out on from a few weeks ago: "things books made me want to do or learn." I've put a semi magical twist on the topic, though! I can't wait, so let's just jump right in!

Read People Out of Books AND Read Yourself Into Books Like Meggie in Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

This is honestly my #1 ultimate dream. I can't imagine any avid reader not wanting this ability. Being able to visit the worlds you've imagined and meet the characters you love so much? It would be freaking amazing! I'd never want to leave!

Apparate Like The Wizards in Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

If I could apparate I could travel anywhere in the world in second--and free of charge! Just think--with a snap of your fingers, you could go anywhere in the world! How awesome would that be?! Mega-awesome, ducklings, that's how awesome.

Ride A Dragon Like Eragon in Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Can you imagine riding on the back of a dragon? Soaring through the open skies, free as can be? Swooping and turning through mountains and valleys and gliding over vast bodies of water? The sky really would be the only limit if I could ride a dragon.

Learn The Art of Assassination Like Celaena in Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

With this skill I could totally be the ultimate BAMF! I admit, I'm totally softhearted, so I might not work out as a career assassin, but you have to admit, the art of assassination comes in pretty handy when you're trying to defend yourself from any sort of attack.

Learn Fencing Like Mallory in The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi

Swordplay could totally fit in with my above goal of learning the art of assassination. In fact, it would probably be part of my training! But back to the topic. Fencing not only looks totally cool but it would lend to my credibility as the ultimate BAMF.

Own A Necklace Made of Teeth That Grant Wishes Like Karou in Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Who wouldn't want this is a good question. It's akin to having your own personal genie! There would be few limits! I could do anything or be anyone I wanted!

Kick Some Demonic Ass in Some Wicked Hot Boots Like Izzy Lightwood in The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Again, this would lend credibility to the whole ultimate BAMF persona. Kicking demonic ass is cool on its own, but doing so in some hot, high heeled boots? Now that's truly cool!

Be An Apprentice To A Supervillain Like Nimona in Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

[Credit: Noelle Stevenson]

As I've said, at the moment I'm pretty softhearted, so where better to learn how to be wicked than a supervillain themselves? I could learn all the evil tricks in the book (and I'm a fast learner)! Watch out, ducklings, cause you're lookin' at the girl who could be the next Big Bad!

Be A BAMF Poison Taster Like Yelena Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder)

Naturally, as a BAMF supervillain, all sorts of people could be looking to kill me, using various methods. And one of those methods could very well be poison. But if I knew how to poison taste...Problem solved!

Have Some Sort of Sweet Super Power Like The Characters of Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Naturally, as a Big Bad BAMF (my take on being a Big Bad), I'd need a cool superpower like the kids of the Shatter Me trilogy. Juliette's power might come in handy, eh? Or maybe having skin of steel or something of that sort!
