Hello, folks! I hope you've had a good week! I've had a pretty good one! I've been diving headfirst back into the world of blogging, which is great, but slightly dizzying lol! And I've also found a lot of new things to obsess over! I think my favorite new obsession from this past week is the book I recently begun, which I'll tell you all about! So let's get straight to the good stuff!
Books
I'm currently reading Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller and ohmygod I love it so much! I love how much bad*ssery and female empowerment there is in the book! Alosa is one intelligent, fierce heroine and BONUS: she has her own all-female crew of kick butt pirates! This book is an all around great time!
Music
I like this moody, R&B side of Bridgit Mendler. I remember when she was younger and still on Disney Channel and was just beginning to experiment with pop music. Personally, I think this new style suits her much better. Her voice is simultaneously high and yet grounded and I think that's a good deal of why she's able to pull off R&B. I can't wait to check out ore of her new stuff.
Movies/TV
I recently saw the trailer for Will, TNT's new drama about William Shakespeare, and I was instantly intrigued! It looks like it's full of romance, action, and political intrigue. I definitely think that a loose exploration of Shakespeare's life could be quite interesting. Plus, there's also the fact that this looks visually stunning. I guess we'll see soon!
News
The exciting news I teased about? An ASHISH book set in the WDMR universe (+ another to follow)!!!! https://t.co/fbG5JYX1JE— Sandhya Menon (@smenonbooks) July 3, 2017
Exciting news for all you fans of When Dimple Met Rishi--Sandhya Menon to write a new book set in the When Dimple Met Rishi universe! Menon has revealed that the book will be about Anish and his new love interest, Sweetie, who is (in Menon's words) a "fat athlete." I'm only a chapter and a half into WDMR, but I already love it and can't wait for this spin-off!
