Hello, my lovely bibliophiles!
I've been talking a lot about my love of audiobooks of late and I've also been seeing a lot of other bloggers posting about wanting to start listening to audiobooks! Which is so awesome in my opinion, because I think audiobooks are great (if you haven't gotten that from my posts, you're probably not paying attention). One thing I see people worrying about a lot and asking a lot of questions about is narrators. And they're right to wonder. A narrator can make or break a story. Luckily, the majority of narrators I've listened to have done a superb job! So I wanted to start a series of posts to recommend and celebrate some of the brilliant narrators I've come across!
First up, the one, the only, the OG...Mr. Jim Dale!
Jim Dale was the first narrator (aside from my own mother reading to me) that I ever listened to, so I'm probably a little biased by nostalgia, BUT STILL! Jim Dale narrated the entire Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and ohmygodguys*hyperventilates*. He. Is. AMAZING!!! He does so many different voices, you just get totally lost in the story. No two characters sound the same! I mean, how does this man pull so many voices out of his hat??? Give the man an Oscar, already, please! But really. Give him his Oscar (if Leo did it, why not Jim?)!
