PERSONAL AND BLOGGING NEWS

Well. It seems I have fallen into a reading slump. It was quite a doozy. It wasn't a graceful fall from glory, either. I didn't go quietly--that's not really my style. I went down hard and now I'm gonna have to work my way up again. So I created a Master Plan of Attack!

But in all seriousness, burnout seems to be a theme this week, be it in blogging or reading. With reading, I'm in a book slump, and with blogging, it feels like I'm slowly petering out of steam. It's not that I feel like I have no more ideas per se, I just feel like they're fewer and farther between and when I do have a good idea, I can't seem to translate it from my mind to reality. So there you have it: the reason I've been a bit slower with blogging in the past 2 weeks. I think I just need to slow down and take it easy--with reading and blogging--not overwhelm myself with stuff, ya know? I think that's what I'll do. So I'm not going on hiatus or anything, I just might cut back on posting so much and reading so fast. I hope that's okay with y'all :(

Despite my reading and blogging slump I did write one post I was really proud of and that was my discussion post on aesthetics, materialism, and booktube. I cannot tell you how pleased I was with the responses I got! You all left such wonderful comments discussing the post and not only that, but you were all so polite, mature, and respectful! I was so happy to get to interact with you all and discuss such an important topic!

In personal news, I'M 95% SURE I'M CHANGING MY MAJOR! I'm currently a physics major, but I want to switch to microbiology! Why the change? I decided I want to become a clinical geneticist or genetic engineer! And there's no better time to change your career choice than when you're getting your undergraduate degree (or so I'm told)! I could always change my mind, but I'm also pretty stubborn, haha!

I also finished a MAJOR application (finally!) so it's really nice to have that off my back! I've been stressing over it and putting it off for about a month and a half now (because there was no solid deadline) and my mom finally put her foot down and gave me quite the kick in the *ss. But it was just what I needed to get it done and she helped me finish it up and smooth things out. I'm really lucky to have her around, as a person living with a chronic illness, and as a 21-year old and as a person in general.

That's kinda it. It was a quiet week, where I just focused on getting the aforementioned application done. I don't really have anything planned for this week. I cannot believe May has flown by so fast and we're almost at mid-year--it feels like January 1 was just yesterday! *sighs all around*

How about you guys? How was your week? Do you have anything fun or exciting planned for this coming week? What was the last thing that made you genuinely laugh and smile? Tell me all about it in the comments!
