Bookdragons are awesome. Does this need to really be said or clarified? I don't think so, but maybe you think we're all nerdy bookworms and you're like, "Why would I want to be like them?!" 'CAUSE WE'RE FREAKIN' AWESOME, THAT'S WHY!!! But maybe that's not enough for you. Maybe you're an extremely logical scientist who needs more than one result to prove this "hypothesis" that bookdragons like us are amazing. Okay. As a fellow scientist, I can understand, I get ya.
Now before I go into why you too should become a bookdragon, I'll give you a terminology lesson. I use the term bookdragon because, like dragons and Beyonce, we slay!
Books, that is. And like dragons and Beyonce, we're also awesome. Now let's get to why that is and why YOU should jump on the bookdragon bandwagon (because, also like Beyonce, we can sing and rap to a sick beat, yo!).
Bookdragons are smart and wise beyond their years!
Reading gives you much insight into the world around you and broadens your perspective! Even if you're not reading academic books, reading always teaches you something. It's a gateway into someone else's mind, allowing you to see through their eyes for a little bit and teaching you compassion and empathy!
Bookdragons get to live many lives (wayyyyyy more than 9, hence why we're not "bookcats")!
Have you ever wanted to be something? Maybe you want to be a life saving scientist who works behind the scenes of a superhero! Or maybe you've wished you could be a death defying wizard! How about a dragon slaying QUEEN who also happens to be a R&B/pop diva (a.k.a. Beyonce)? Books let you do that! Books let you slip into someone else's skin for a little while and imagine yourself away!
Bookdragons get to fangirl unabashedly!
Have you ever loved something so much that you just want to jump up and down and squeal and flail your limbs for hours upon hours? As a bookdragon, you can totally do that, minus the embarrassment because we're a loving community that 100% accepts fangirls/fanboys! In fact, we're a community mostly comprised of bookish fangirls/fanboys, so you can jump up and down and squeal and flail in good company!
Bookdragons have a ridiculous amount of friends!
Granted, they may be fictional but they still count, okay? OKAY?!!!! (Don't give me that look)
Bookdragons are the most lovable, adorkable weirdos!
We are quirky! We are cute! We are bookdragons and we slay! Most all bookdragons are of the adorkable, slightly socially awkward, fangirl variety. We flail about books and get tremendously excited and shy when meeting authors (our version of rockstars). We're weirdos, but we're also super lovable!
So those are just a few of the reasons why bookdragons are awesome and why you should join us. It's fun so do it--JUST DO IT!!!!!!!! You most definitely won't regret it!
