Top 10 Tuesday | Books I Picked Up On A Whim

Heya! Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week's topic of "books you picked up on a whim" was definitely difficult for me! Why? Because it's rare now, as a book blogger, to not have heard of a book months before you buy it! Hype is a big thing nowadays and this fact is compounded by the fact that I always check reviews before I read a book. So I don't tend to pick up books on a whim. BUT! I scrolled through my Goodreads to way back when I was a baby book blogger and to when I wasn't even a book blogger at all to find some things that I (kind of) bought on a whim. Here's what I came up with...

1. To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I'd never heard of To All The Boys I've Loved Before when I stumbled across the audiobook at my local library and thought, "Eh, why not? Looks cute! Might as well give it a try!" And I ended up loving it.

2. Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry
I'm not usually a contemporary kinda gal and bikers aren't my thng, so this book wasn't high on my priority list, but one day I saw the audiobook at the library and fgured I'd give it a try. Boy, was I glad I did!

3. Losing It by Cora Carmack
As I said, I'm not really a contemporary gal, and I'm also not a huge fan of NA (I'm not opposed to it or anything, it's just not really my thing). One day I ust grabbed it at the library and decided to give it a try!

4. The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan
I don't really like adult books but my library had this one and it looked fun and I love Kate and William so I picked The Royal We up! Turns out it was an awesome book!

5. November 9 by Colleen Hoover
Ah, my first NA ever. I just saw my library had this one and that it was new, so I grabbed it. That was a good decision!

6. The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Even though contemporary's not my thing and this is the third book in a companion series that I haven't read, I decided to give The Boy Most Likely To a try. It worked out pretty well!

7. Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios
I don't remember why I bought this other than it had a pretty cover and it was Arabian inspired. I liked it a lot, though!

8. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
I had never heard of Shatter Me prior to picking it up, but it had a nice cover and an interesting synopsis, so I decided to try it out! I'm sure glad I did!

9. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
I'd also never heard of The Winner's Curse before I read it, but I'd seen it on shelves and been entraced by the pretty cover. Luckily for this one the cover's beauty matched the insides!

10. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
That's right. I picked up the first book of one of my all time favorite series up on a whim. I just saw it one day and read the synopsis and was like, "Rebellious female assassin competing in a fight to the death? That sounds good!" And the rest is history, I suppose!
